TOMORROW BEGINS TODAY!
The idea of the non-commercial youth Festival "TOMORROW BEGINS TODAY" emerged in the theatrical community two years ago.
15 theaters from different countries (Russia, Belgium, Spain, India, Mexico, Serbia, Latvia, Israel, Ukraine) suggested setting an "arms moratorium" for five days in May 2007 across all theatrical stages of Russian hero-town Tula, known for ages as "the arsenal of Russia", for an evident purpose - to accentuate the problem "Society and Arms".
We did not suggest disarming power structures, the mission of which is to protect us.
We did not suggest crossing "Romeo and Juliet" out of the theatrical repertoire.
We strongly believe that patriotism and protection of interests of one's homeland should not produce the ideology of cruelty and make guns easy accessible. Even if we cannot change the world at once, we'll let the scene be free from arms for at list several days.
